Embrace Families, a non-profit agency based in Central Florida, prioritizes independent living initiatives that promote normalcy and lead to successful transitions to adulthood. Embrace Families has oversight of the Keys to Independence Program which is a statewide program that is committed to helping youth experiencing foster care and/or homelessness obtain their driver’s permit and license.

We are pleased to announce that we have been awarded a grant for the FY2023-2024 from the Missouri Department of Transportation (MODOT) which is in effect from 10/1/2023-9/30/2024.

This will allow us to begin developing a program in Missouri that will be very much like our Keys to Independence Program here in Florida which helps get our youth safety behind the wheel.

 We will be offering reimbursement for the following services for your young people experiencing foster care:

• Learner’s permit fee
• Driving lessons
• Road test fees
• Driver’s license fees

 We are expecting to start serving young people, in Missouri, in early Spring 2024!
