In 2009, Massachusetts created the Rise Above Foundation which is dedicated to providing children in foster care with opportunities that will give them a sense of normalcy, provide comfort and build self-esteem.
Preparing Adolescents for Young Adulthood (PAYA) offers modules for adolescents in care to assist them in their preparation for adulthood. By completing each of the five modules in the PAYA ($500 for driver’s ed) curriculum, you may be eligible for a one-time payment of up to $300 for driver’s education or $50 for independent living needs. This is paid for through Chaffee dollars.
